Ellie convinced me to go to karaoke tonight.  Of course on the record I would say I never need any convincing.  However lately I have been totally stressed out at work and off the record I might say maybe she had to twist my arm.

It was a great night.  We didn’t go to our regular place, we went to kind of a hole in the wall joint where the whole atmosphere was  a lot more laid back than our typical place.  I had a great time.

There was a woman there who was about to get married and had a small group (Ellie and I figured it was the bridal party) with her.  Amazingly they were all quite talented singers.  Or so I thought.

Until the moment when from the bridal party table this incredibly beautiful perfectly dressed girl got up and sang “At Last” for the bride to be.  Can’t believe I am saying it, but she made Beyonce look almost talentless.  (Naturally no one can hold a candle to Etta, I mean come ON!).  I was really impressed.

It always amazes me when regular people get up and sing and blow my stereotypes right out of the water.  That girl has an amazing talent and it should be shared.  I am glad she got up and sang a spell for her friend, but I hope she doesn’t stop there.  She is impeccably talented.  I felt kind of starstruck when we left the bar.
